Past the half way mark

Thousands of school students from across Western Australia poured through the doors of the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre today to watch the 2014 national competitors as work continued at the ultimate skills challenge.

Day two was action-packed with things to see and do with six speed challenges across the day including the Meat Retailing hindquarter speed test, the carpentry pallet making challenge and the infamous ABBTF Gun Trowel Bricklaying speed test, all which drew six foot deep crowds and a lot of excitement.

Each of theTry’aSkillactivities were attracting cues of people wanting to learn how to make a sausage, design a logo and test their vehicle painting skills in a virtual spray booth.

Competitor’s nerves had settled by the early afternoon as projects began taking shape and competitors passed the halfway mark of the National Competition.
